X and Y: XYlitol

Well, that's the best I can do for the letters "x" and "y." I have run out of steam for the A to Z Challenge. I didn't get all the books read I wanted to, and some of these last letters are just amazingly difficult. So here it is—the definition of my word for today. By the way, I much prefer stevia for an artificial sweetener.

    xy·li·tol
    noun /ˈzīləˌtôl/  /-ˌtäl/
    1. A sweet-tasting crystalline alcohol derived from xylose, present in some plant tissues and used as an artificial sweetener in foods.

  1. That seems like a pretty inventive use for X and Y - good on you for pushing forward! Just one more day left now :)
