G: Griselda Takes Flight by Joyce Magnin

Before I started reading this book, I was aware it was the sequel to "The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow." However, I did not realize it was also connected to Joyce Magnin's "Charlotte Figg Takes Over Paradise." I was quite pleasantly surprised when she showed up in this book as well.

As in the other two books, the author combines some of the most unusual characters into an engaging tale. From "Prayers" we have several returning characters including, of course, Griselda and her sister, Agnes, Ruth, Mildred, Zeb, Studebaker and others, as well as newcomers including an injured treasurer hunter, his strangely detached fiancee and a pilot making an emergency landing. How these characters interact throughout the story is at times laughable and at other times, very touching. Ms. Magnin weaves mystery and humor together into a fun, fresh story.
