Shreveport, LA 71115 (Gate 3-1) Day 3

We really had a good day today, but apparently the oil guys did not. Apparently they pump mud for some reason (we have a lot to learn!) and if they don't do it fast enough, it hardens and that is bad. Well, it is bad! They have to fix this problem tomorrow before they can proceed with the fracking or whatever it is they are doing now. We are still a bit confused as you can see!
We have come up with a basic schedule that is working for us so far and I alluded to this in yesterday's post. Wayne sleeps on the couch at night (the alarm bell is right outside the window next to his head) so that he can get up should any trucks pass by. For the past two nights, everything has quieted down by 7:30 or so and no one has come in or out until about 3 in the morning. That may not be the case tonight! Anyway, Sue gets up around 7 or so, makes a yummy breakfast and after eating together, she sends Wayne to bed for some uninterrupted sleep. He sleeps until noon or later, and then we get to spend the rest of the day together. We'll see if that continues to work. If it gets busy at night, Wayne will have to sleep longer. We will do what we have to do to make it work for both of us.
Sue had a couple of "friends" visit today. She isn't squeamish about bugs at all which is a good thing. She was sitting outside, enjoying the morning after cleaning up the breakfast dishes when she felt a little something on her arm. She looked over an was quite shocked to see an enormous 4" walking stick bug testing her arm to see if it was a good place to walk.
Squeamish or not, Sue didn't relish the idea of being a runway for a bug that large so she hopped up and ran inside for the camera. She got several good pictures, and then she coaxed it onto a fly swatter and carefully moved it over to the side of the 5th wheel.
An hour later, she discovered that Mrs. Walking Stick not only came back, but she brought her husband with her. Truth be told, he was intimately connected with her and was obligated to go wherever she went!

Out came the camera again to snap some more pictures. Sue decided to leave them where they were for the time being so that Wayne could see them when he got up. He wasn't quite as excited as she was, so she again coaxed them onto the fly swatter and moved them further away into the brush. We'll see if they stay away this time. We have our doubts!
