I said "sort of" slowed down because we have actually kept quite busy going to several spring training baseball games. It has been a lot of fun for the most part, but I doubt Lucy would say the same. Poor thing has been left in our trailer almost every day for 6 hours or so. Although all the games have been in the vicinity of the greater Phoenix area, some of them have been over an hour away from our home. That and trying to get there in time to find a spot in the parking lot has meant a lot of driving time, some of it spent creeping along in a line of cars with little to no traffic control. Needless to say Wayne understandably has not enjoyed those times very much. Yesterday was the worst as we were trying to get to Scottsdale Stadium to see the Giants play the White Sox. This stadium was built with minimum concern for the ability of the fans to find parking spaces. On top of that, it started pouring right as we parked so even though we paid $5 to have a gentleman peddle us to the park, we were drenched by the time we got there. The game ended up being delayed an hour, but finally started at 2:00. Fortunately, the Giants beat the White Sox 6 to 2. The cool thing is, none of the teams we have rooted for have lost ... nice!
- SF Giants @ Seattle Mariners 8 to 7
- Texas Rangers @ KC Royals 13 to 3
- AZ Diamondbacks @ Chicago Cubs 7 to 8 (didn't really care who won this game)
- LA Angels @ Oakland As 2 to 4
- Chicago White Sox @ SF Giants 2 to 6
Tomorrow is the final game -- we are going to see the Milwaukee Brewers play the As. We were supposed to see them play the Cincinnati Reds last Sunday, but that game was rained out, so we are using our tickets tomorrow. Hopefully the As can win again.
We had a nice visit with my Aunt Sarah today in Sun City. We took her to lunch at Cracker Barrel and then went back to her home for a bit of a visit. She had some ice cream sandwiches in her freezer which made a great dessert. She wanted to buy lunch but we wouldn't let her. She thinks she won the "argument" because she "gave" me a roll of quarters ... wouldn't let me buy them from her. However, while she was out of the room getting them, I put a $10 bill underneath one of her figurines on a shelf in her living room. Hopefully by the time she finds it, she won't realize it was me that left it! :-)
Monday we will be leaving the area and staying one night in Benson, AZ, moving on to Las Cruces, NM for three days. I'll catch up to you then. Stay safe everyone!
Oh, you're so sneaky mom! ;c)
